Founded in 2019 by Ryan R. Ruff, Ruff Restoration & Excavation was built on a commitment to hard work, quality craftsmanship, and dependable service. With years of experience in the restoration, excavation, and horizontal directional drilling industries, Ryan turned his passion for the trade into a company dedicated to delivering exceptional results for every client.
Since our beginnings as a single operation in St. Johns, Michigan, we have experienced steady growth. The addition of our new shop and office facility has expanded our capabilities, improved productivity, and strengthened our ability to meet the needs of our customers. In 2021, we continued that growth by opening a second operating location in Fowlerville, Michigan, allowing us to efficiently serve customers throughout Michigan's Lower Peninsula. Today, we proudly partner with major utility contractors, municipalities, businesses, and residential property owners, delivering high-quality excavation, restoration, and utility services on projects of every size.
As a full-service excavation and restoration contractor, we offer comprehensive solutions from start to finish. Our services include pit digging, open trenching, horizontal directional drilling, plowing, and complete hard and soft surface restoration. We also provide 24/7 emergency utility repair services, ensuring we're ready to respond whenever our clients need us. Because we work year-round—Including Michigan winters—we help keep critical infrastructure projects moving with minimal delays.

Trucks and Equipment
At Ruff Restoration & Excavation we own and maintain all of our trucks and equipment so our fleet is ready to go 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.
- TRUCKS — Our fleet includes 30 medium- and heavy-duty trucks, including dump trucks with capacities up to 20 cubic yards and a hydro-excavation truck.

- FALCON 4-TON HOTBOX— Used to efficiently transport and maintain hot asphalt for restoration work.
